Getting closer to removing the cylinder head from my 1980 245DL (B21F M46) but I'm confused by the tensioner for the timing belt. When I removed the nut, the tensioner didn't budge. The coils of the spring are all touching - in other words, the spring is fully compressed regardless of whether the nut is on or off. The Haynes manual shows a rivet stuck through the metal piece that sticks out from the right side (facing the tensioner) of the spring - is that piece supposed to have a hole in it? Shouldn't the spring push the belt so the spring isn't fully compressed when the nut is removed from the tensioner? Any answers are appreciated....the belt has been on for 36k miles, tensioner replaced around 92k miles ago I think...Thanks
Zack
