B23 / B230 Cylinder Heads 200

I have a question regarding the cylinder heads on the B23 and B230 engines. I have an 84 240 with the B23 engine with a small crack in the head (by one of the exhaust manifold studs...appears to have been overtightened). There is also a lot of racket in the engine, which seems like the valves/cams. My thinking on this is because there are dark spots on the cams where they appear to be not even contacting the valve shims.

I have a friend who had an 89 240 with the B230 engine with just over 100k miles. The car was recently totaled, but he saved many parts, including the cylinder head. He told me that I could have the one from that engine for $25. My question is, would this work on the B23 engine? The head from the 89 was resurfaced and had a valve job done on it less than a year ago. From what I can gather, the head gaskets and the camshafts are the same on both heads. But I do not want to get into something and find out it will not work in the end. Does anyone know? As it is, I do not want to spend more money than I absolutely have to (I am a student), and with over 300k miles on my 84...

Thanks in advance.
