I don't think that I've seen a 940 turbo sedan built after 92. Did they stop making them after 92? What's up with the SE? Is that the 'high pressure' turbo? Nivomats?

Is there anything that I need to know about buying a turbo volvo other than turbo condition and smoke/oil consumption? Are there are problematic turbo/engine configurations that I should worry about? I've driven a 745 with a b234 for the last 70k miles so I'm familiar with most everything about a 700/900 volvo except the engine/turbo. I do all of my own work and due to the uhm, 'maintanance needs' of the B234 I've learned more about it than I ever wanted to know. Replacing a turbo or head gasket on an 8 valve doesn't scare me. I just replaced the head on my 16v. I just don't want to buy the wrong one (AGAIN!).


What kind of gas mileage should I expect in a turbo, highway/city?
