Brake Warning Light but Brakes Feel Fine, Should I Ignore or Worry? 200 1978

About 6 months ago the dashboard brake warning light on my 245 lit up.
I checked the fluid reservoir and found it to be very low, just about empty.
I filled it up, the brakes work and feel fine and the level of the fluid has stayed constant.
However, the light is still on.
Not only is this mildly irritating, but I can't help wondering whether one day the brakes ARE going to fail.
I presume some air got in the lines or something and tripped something or other.
Can I reset the light? or
How hard is it to bleed the brakes (I've got a Haynes manual)?
Should I be particularly worried?
