Exhaust System 200 1990

I knew that I had a small hole in my muffler last year and my mechanic let it pass through the inspection (but said that it needed to be repaired ASAP). I let it go -- well I actually patched it. However, everything was okay and I was getting ready to have it done in the next few weeks (before my inspection) and then I hit a pothole and every since then my car sounds like a motorcycle. I took it in today and turns out that the hole that I patched is in the front muffler (uh, no longer patched) and there is also a hole in the back muffler (that may have been the one that the mechanic was talking about). So, the pipe that goes from the cadalytic converter is fine. Then there is a small pipe that fits from that pipe to the front muffler. Well, that pipe is no longer connected to that muffler (the pothole must've just given it the push it needed to fall off). The piple that goes from the front muffler to the back muffler needs to be replaced as well. And then there is the back muffler with a hole that needs to be replaced. I saw all this myself when I was at the shop.

This is what they quoted me:

Pipe: $35
Labor: $62 (one hour)
Muffler: $69.95
Muffler: $69.95
Pipe: $17
Tail pipe: $30.00

There are a few other little things and taxes and it all comes out to $301.89. Does this sound right? Also, I go to a mechanic who does a good job, but do you think that I just just stick to Meineke for the exhaust work?

Any thoughts/advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

Julie
