78 242 GT fuel problems 200 1978

I have a 78 242 GT that is having some fun problems... the fuel pump continues to run after turning off the car. also, not sure if this car has an intank pump as well as the external pump. there are 3 wires that go to the tank one (brown) is disconnected and not sure where it connects (this may have to do with my other issue with the inaccurate fuel gauge. car quits at 1/4 tank mark) anyone have some tips?
