After my cousin added more tranny fluid in DC, she drove back to MO and asked her mechanic to take a look. A small hose had perforated from age and allowed the fluid to escape under pressure. Only a 3 inch line. There are no more spots on the driveway! The main seals are clean and it runs like it's supposed to.
Thanks for all of your helpful advice and willingness to help a stranger in need.

What a great car... too bad my cousin is buying it from me. I guess I will just have to find another one to take it's place.
