I am in the position to start looking for a power steering rack for my 1978 244. It currently has power steering that works super nice, I can steer it with one finger. It is leaking and clunking.
I notice that a manual rack can be had for a few dollars more. Would a manual rack free up more space under the hood after removing power steering pump? I am thinking about eventually putting in a turbo and intercooler.
How difficult is it to turn a manual rack? Thanks in advance for your help.
