'89 760 T ECU 700 1999

I picked up a Spare ECU at the P-n-P on Saturday P/N 0 280 000 541. Tonight I wanted to check and make sue that it was the same Part number as in my '89 760 T, and it is. When taking the unit from the donor car, I removed about 8" of harness with the ecu in case some day I decide to make a breakout box like Art Benstein.

On the harness right near the Main connector is a two pin connector. On my car, there is a small loop-back conector plugged into this connector. On the harness from the junk yard, the loop-back connector is there, but not plugged in, it is just twisted around the wires to the two pin connector.

Anybody have any idea of the function of this two pin connector? Mostly I am just curious.

Thanks,

Dan
