Strut Bearings 700

I'm getting the tell tale clunking and clicking in the front end that is telling me that the strut bearings are worn. It's about time for the 2nd set at 220k. The ball joints and other front end items have been replaced in the past year so i'm reasonably certain it is the strut bearings.

Can anyone tell how urgent an item this is? Is this a safety item or can i put it off a month or so? When I do it I will replace the struts and the remaining bushings as well.
