Hey all,
GOt a '93 940 Wagon with the b230f and Regina ignition. We just got it a while back and haven't been driving it while I'm zero-miling it. It just takes time for me to do everything since I work 40 hours a week and go to school for 16 credit hours a week.
I reshimmed the valves today to get the valve lash within spec (it was noisy as hell before, but now is nice and quiet.) Anyway, when I started it after the valve shim replacement, I let it warm up a bit and revved the engine to about 2500-3000 rpm to listen for valve shims shearing off and other worst nightmare stuff.... None of that happened, but when I let off the gas, the engine died. It started right back up and idled fine... but died again after I revved it.
The next thing on my checklist for the car is to replace flame-trap, new distributor cap and gasket, new wires and plugs, and to clean the fuel injector intake.
THe engine skips a beat when you apply gas, too. It only does it for a fraction of a second, then goes away once the RPMs climb. I noticed the skip before, but did not discover the stalling till today.
SHould I wait to see if the next round of PM things solve it, or is there another problem that jumps out at you guys I need to address?
Many Thanks,
Fred
