My 1985 740GLE has been very hard to start at times while at other times it starts right up. I've been trying to find a common thread to what conditions cause this and the only possibility is if I let it idle for a minute or so after coming to a stop before shutting it off it seems to start well. If I don't and especialy when it is still warm it starts very hard and when it catches it stumbles and runs rough for 5-10 seconds before smoothing out. It seems to run well otherwise. It has a smell like gas after starting it like it was a rich start. I sometimes have to barely depress the gas pedal to get it to start if it doesn't catch at first. If I don't on those hard starts it doesn't seem to catch at all.
Any ideas? I've changes plugs, wires, and coil recently. 10000 or so did the rotor and cap. I cleaned the throttle body and recently changed the O2 sensor. I need to clear this up before sometime it won't start at all and leave me stranded.
Thanks
Don Smith
