I've got the tan cloth interior, and it's original, and I've no experience with upholstery whatsoever.

Is it possible to remove the covers, thoroughly hand-wash them, and re-install them safely? I don't want to wreck anything; they are in great condition apart from some staining that I cannot seem to suck out!
