Looks like something went wrong with the drivers side "rod" switch on my 1990 240. Can this item be repaired and has anyone tried to? Also,just curious,how does the collar that surrounds the lock work? Is it a mercury switch,or a magnetic switch?It is 2 wires encased in plastic but how does it make an electrical connection? While I was fitting it onto the lock cylinder I could hear it activating the relays. How is that possible?
