Last week I decided to order new rear rotors and pads for my 91 940T. I was concerned that I have put over 120k on the car and the rear pad and rotors were not wearing. I figured the rear pistons were locked up. I was right. I rebuilt them and all good.
I think my master cylinder is wore out and may be the cause of the locked up pistons. My brake pedal has a lot of play for the first 1-2inches but then firms up. But the car is still lifting up quite a bit even under moderate to low braking. I know the fronts due most of the braking, but I have driven other Volvos that do not lift the rear so much. I have power bled the brakes, master cylinder etc. many times. In light of safety I will order a new master cylinder.
I your opinion is this right, and/or is there some other part or mechanism I may be missing.
Thanks
P.S. To the best of my knowledge, it is the original master on the car, which now has
220k.
