i checked, cleaned, re-greased the front bearings on my 240glt and noticed that there was no washer between the outer bearing and the lock-nut. the nut itself did have a flange however.

should i fit a washer anyway, to prevent the race rubbing against the flange (signs of wear present but casue unknown)

i bought this brick (first ever!) a few months ago - '88 with only 132000miles... new front tyres and headlights cost more than the car!!!!
