Boy I sure got a lot of flack about the Daewoo Leganza. I liked it because it drove and handled like a european car and had one of the nicest leather interiors I've ever seen. I drove it down to Savannah and Tybee Island through Tropical Storm Harvey which was a downgraded hurricane. The car stayed on the road in 70 MPH cross winds without a problem.
The 240 is back on the road. New water pump. ASC made in USA pump for $32 as opposed to the $108 Volvo one. The pump had some quirkyness to it. The bolt holes were a little off but I was still able to use it. It had no studs for the fan. I had to make my own by cutting off the heads of some ss bolts. I turned in my old pump as a core and forgot to take off the studs. I found ball bearings all over the engine compartment and down in the splash pan. The sucker exploded. Everything works but the bypass tube to the heater has a slight drip when it's running. I gave up on trying to seal it and am taking it to a shop Wednesday. The first question they asked was how rusty was the end of the tube. It may have to be replaced or patched.
I'm heading to New York city next month. Probably renting a Century or Taurus or a Vibe if I'm lucky. I've got 4 passengers with luggage and will need something this size, but gets better MPG than a SUV or Van.
