In the headlight assembly of my 1996 940, there are 3 areas:
(Looking at the front of the car, left hand light)
First there is the main hi/lo bulb, which the full heigh of the assembly and on the left, next to the turn signals etc.
closer to the centre of the car and in the bottom half of the assembly is a light that only comes on when using Hi-beam and the Fog light switch - this is the fog light, yes? I thought fog lights were supposed to be in place of hi-beam lights to reduce dazzle...
the 3rd area is above the 'fog light' next to the main beam and is currently empty - it has some grey plastic cap over where a bulb should go. What should go here?
Also, on thye driver's side dashboard speaker cover there is a tiny electrical sensor, mounted in a flatteneed pyramid shape, that looks like a photo-optical sensor or similar. any ideas what this could be? some sort of automatic headlight sensor perhaps?
The vehicle is ex-Japan, but made in Sweden.
Cheers,
Mike
