My 90 740GL Wagon needed rear shocks and springs and I debated about whether to tackle the job myself or pay a shop to do it. Well, I search to forums last week, found a few postings about shock/spring replacement and then went to the 700 FAQ and found fairly detailed instructions.
Bottomline: With the info in hand, I replaced both rear shocks and springs on the car in about 90 minutes -- and that includes the time to pull out the tools and put everything away when I was done!
Thanks to all those who pull together the information on this board and then take the time to patiently help those who post questions. I figure I saved at least a few hundred bucks by ordering the parts from FCP Groton and doing it myself. Couldn't have done it without the Brickboard.
