CR 915 and speakers 700 1990

So I ordered a CR 915 radio on ebay (with code) and it should be here mid-week. I am little nervous because I could only find one reference to that stereo when I did bunch of searches of this site. Anyone know if this will mate up to the existing wiring in a '90 760 turbo. From that one post I found it appears it will, but I will have to do some re-wiring for the speakers driven off the existing amp as this newer stereo has all six channels internally amplified. Am I close?

Additionally, any idea why Crutchfield only comes back with a couple of speakers that will fit the (front only) doors of this car? Is it the mounting depth (top mount under 2"), the flange thickness or just an overly picky set of search criteria? All of my speakers are fine at the moment, but I am always on the lookout for speaker deals.
