I just finished changing brake pads on my 88 240 dl, I replaced the master cylinder about a month ago, how ever I had difficulty compressing the left rear inside caliper piston and had to put one of the old pads back in until I can obtain a replacement caliper, I bled all 4 wheels and my pedal was still a little spongier than ide like and my brake failure light is now on..
I fear I may have damaged the right rear brake valve when I was trying to force the piston back, thus giving the pressure differential warning valve a signal to light up my dash board.
Note I did have the bleeders opened when I was compressing the caliper pistons. I have also bled the master cylinder again, which did by the way turn the signal off for a short period of time.
Any clues ???? should I go to a dealer and have it bled with more advanced machinery?
p.s. I really hate traversing Orlando to get to a winter park dealer.
