ac dropping 900

wITH THE a/c on and driving along at any speed, if I accelerate the a/c cuts out and then resumes after acceleration. Think it should do this if I relly kick it, but now happening at lower speeds. Any answers, or is that the way it should be. 96 960; 128,000
