Our '93 240 (120,000 miles) Sedan has pad/rotor issues as well as a couple of failing exhaust pieces.

A couple of questions for the group...

First off, I drive this car to and from work, and to run errands around the neighborhood. All-in-all, I drive it about 100 miles a week.

However, it seems like we go have brake issues at least twice a year and have had rotors replaced twice in the last two years (ouch)!

Is this usual for this year/model Volvo? I am really looking for some education on this issue as I am at a loss.

Also, I need a new downpipe and front muffler. I am thinking about installing this myself if I buy a complete kit (reusing old catalytic converter). Any recommendations as to replacement parts (stock/performance).

I am thinking that if I can get a "performance" exhaust kit for a couple of bucks more, why not. I am not looking for major gains, just something to give the old brick some pep in its step.
