Volvo second life 200 1986

Hey!
I'm just a student but I have A 1986 Volvo 240 and a 1982 BMW 320i... Now I have been told that one of them has got to go. Problem is: I love them both. But I think if I can transform the Volvo into a pickup truck I could keep both because of the added practicity.
Now has any of you ever done this conversion? How hard would it be? and how pricey could the project go?

Anyway thank you all you have been of great help when I first pulled the car out of a strawberries field.
