Kickdown Cable (Addition to Transmission message) 900

THis is in in addition to my transmission message a few days ago. THank you for the replys, you guys were right on, the kickdown is stuck in the full throttle position. now, i have be quoted prices between 51.21 (online) and about 130.00 at the dealer for the cable itself. a transmission shop quoted me a price of 400+ which seems a little steep to me for something that isnt seemingly hard to fix. i have made some other calls and the price ranges from 1.5 hours to 3 hours to fix it with the price range of 80 to 225 in labor plus parts. i do not know what to do, this price range and time range is confusing to some degree. if i was at home and not school i would have my normal mechanic who has worked on my volvos for 8 years now, i take it there tell him to fix what ever and i get a resonable bill, no worries. but i want the job done right with out being taken to the cleaners. what should i look for with a quality mechanic? its not often that my volvo is in the shop, if at all. i was told the transmission plate can get rusted and is ruined (DIPSTICK TUBE BECOMING UNATTACHED?!) in the dissembly process, which alarms me do the mechanic's ability. Its not that trying to be cheap with fixing it, the range of time and cost has me alarmed. if anyone could offer some words of wisdom on that matter i would again be greatful. -Andrew
