Does anyone know how to manually test to see if an overdrive relay is bad? My manual '85 240 will no longer go into overdrive. Before I purchase a new relay I'd like to know if I can attach jumpers to the relay wires & force it into overdrive, & thus confirming that the relay needs replaced.

I have checked the stickshift button and that is fine. When the overdrive quit during the winter it seemed like the clutch was slipping when overdrive was engaged. Then the overdrive quit altogether. All 4 gears work fine now, but without overdrive.
