85' Windshield mounted Radio Antenna replacement with low profile. Tired of the wind noise...No kidding 200 1985

Guys

About 2 years ago I started installing sound deadening material in my 85' 240 for my stereo system. After the installation there was significant improvement. However this lead me to realize the the windshield noise from the ouside was by 60% comming from the antenna . As a test I covered the antenna with a foam material as a test and it made a BIG difference. No kidding.

I am really curious. Almost all newer car models have hidden antennas or low profile antennas. Is it possible to find a way to replace my antenna with a low profile one. How do I go about plugging the hole?

Any suggestions recommendations.

Thanks

Mike
