Transmission acting S90-V90 1998

Lately the tranny in our S90 started to give us very noticeable thumps when taking foot off the brakes after stops in traffic. It almost feels like the tranny jerks a little bit when engaging into gear from neutral. (I am not sure what is exactly happening, but this is the best I can describe it.) Before the tranny was pretty smooth in all situations. Anybody else experienced similar thumping/jerking when taking foot off the breaks after stops?
