Crankshaft pulley came loose! 200 1985

My 245DL Wagon has been sitting for a couple of weeks now and I need advice to get it back on the road. It has 258,000 miles and new fuel pump, plugs, wires, filters, basic tuneup stuff.

Without warning one night, I lost power steering and it overheated. I knew it had to do with the belts so I opened the hood and checked - nothing was moving! The Crankshaft Pulley was loose. After removing the everything to get to it, we discovered that the bolt had come loose. The biggest problem seems to be the damage it did. There are some nicks in the pulley and the pin is completely gone. WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS?

I also thought this would be a good time to repair some oil leaks since I have it torn down to the timing belt. It looks like the Camshaft and Intermediate seals but I'm only a home mechanic. I have the Haynes manual for it, but you know how that goes...

Please help! What should I be looking for? What else should be done while it's torn apart? Is it worth getting into or does it have more problems than I should mess with?
Thanks in advance!
