Suggestions for an in-line E-fan temp sensor (Frustration continues) 200

I want to ditch my sh*tty thermo probe inserted into my rad which triggers my electric fan and step up to a more accurate setup. The car has been running hot and the fan shuts off even though the guage is reading up near the red (even worse with the AC). I'm hoping that the Hayden Thermo probe is just junk (20 bucks at Autozone) as the gauge never moved in the hottest of days (90+) with the AC cranked with the mechanical fan. Fan is 16" Hayden. What are some suggestions for some type of in-line setup? Easier the better! I'd like to try this approach to see if it's the problem before switching fans. Philip Pan suggested Spal...might be the solution if this fails.
