van tires

Has anyone tried van tires on their car? Any opinions?

I noticed that some higher load rated van tires are available in my size. I am wondering if they would offer better durability on rough roads vs. car tires. I will be taking a 30k mile road trip in June that will include some very rough roads.

TireRack offers Continental, Michelin, Bridgestone and Yokohama van tires in 185R-14 size.
