Sway Bars & Control Arms Compatibility 700

The 700 series came with 2 configurations of sway bar anchors at the control arm. Are they interchangeable or is the approach angle different on the steel than on the aluminum? I have a 85 760 Turbo, steel, and would like to put the sway bars on my 87 740 GLE, alnminum. What will a I need to do and is it worth the effot?
