Electric fan needed with HD radiator? 700 1987

Electric fan was seized when I got the car, PO had previously installed a 3 row HD radiator to replace the deteriorated stock unit. I ran all last year that way; no overheating problems all year, even on the hottest days.
Should I be finding a replacement or does the extra cooling capacity afforded by the larger radiator negate the need?
Any opinions appreciated, thanks.
