Automatic Transmission Experience Needed 200 1982

Im trying to figure out whether i can put this trans back in. My problem is i cant pull the TC off (havent tried too hard)and when its seated properly should i be able to spin the TC in both directions? When I have it seated all the way in i cant spin it. Does this sound like either the tran/TC might have some damage? Please leave an email or ICQ so i might contact you directly if i have another ques on this subject.
