Is the manual shift recessed flywheel on a 1989 740 turbo have the magnetic impulse on it? If it doesn't does this mean it has a distributor with points, rotor, etc.? I'm a little confused here. If I try to convert a 1990 or later 740 turbo automatic to a manual shift, is there a special recessed flywheel that has the impulse sender and does it have the same number of mounting holes, teeth, etc. What I'm driving at is this. Can I use the most common recessed flywheel and if necessary drill out and install the magnetic on the flywheel (JB weld/epoxy). What'sthe simplest and economical solution for the automatic to manual switch?
