A/c control knob? 200

Boy is this ever basic! I just got a '90 240 wagon with no owner's manual. I'm not sure how to turn the a/c to high cool. Intuitively I want to turn the knob all the way to the right but it seems to cool better with the knob is straight down, right where the red and blue meet. So, where should the control knob be set?

BTW, is the a PDF file of owner manuals?
