AW 70 700 1989

Last week I noticed a whirring noise when running my 1989 740 GL. I thought it was my power steering pump. This week Mon. I noticed gear slip, ie. higher rev.s Then yeaterday no engaugement at all, forwaqrd or reverse. I thought it must be loss of oil pressure in the tranny. Today I took out the tranny and the oil pump is perfect. Any ideas where to look next?
