240 dead! 200 1991

I guess ill start from the begining. My 91 240 sat for the winter because I had just gotten my licence and my mom didnt want me to drive the RWD 5 speed in the snow. It just wouldnt have worked. So about 2 weeks ago the weather got nice and I took it out of the garage. The battery was dead. This didnt suprise me, so i towed it to my local garage and had the battery replaced and had them do a check over and top the fluids home. I drove it home just fine.

Then I went out of town to visit a family member for about a week. When I got back it was sunday night, I went to sleep and woke up the next morning, go downstairs to warm my car up before driving to school. It sat in the drive way for about 5 minutes before i went outside. I get in and I immediatly sence something is wrong. When i turned the raido on the engine started to dim a bit. Then all of a sudden it coughed and died. I was like "ahhhhhh not now!" Then I put the key in to start it and the batterys dead. The starter wont even crank anymore.

I'm thinking that this must be the alternator. My problem is I have no idea where its located in the engine bay, or anything about electronics. I've done some research also and it seems volvo's have a BOSH 80 amp alternator. I'm thinking of puting a sound system in my car in the near future and am thinking im going ot need more power ~100 amps at least. Does anyone make alternators for volvos that arent only 80 amps?

Thank you very much for reading all of this and for any help you can give me

-Nick
