Turbo Diesel Compression Pressures 700

Hi Guys:

I'm still trying to get to the root of some idle knock and slight unevenness at idle.

The idle knock is associated with #6. The slight unevenness, I'm not sure yet.
On a day like today (85 degrees) the idle knock is almost gone. The uneveness comes and goes. By unevennees I don't mean a miss. It actually feel as if a cylinder isn't pulling it's weight. Anything above 1000 RPM is smooth as silk.

Here's the result of my Compression Test using a Hastings Tester
and taken from the Injector Hole. All readings taken with a cold
Engine and all the Injectors out. Are they OK?

(1)- 500

(2)- 505

(3)- 495

(4)- 505

(5)- 500

(6)- 505

The Green Book says 24 bar(348 psi) to 36 bar(522 psi). But I'm not sure if that's with the injectors in or out. So I'm not sure if this is good or not.

This is my first Diesel and don't know what to expect here. I can live with this as the engine really runs good. Except for what I described. Am I being too critical?

Thanks for the help
