Howdy,
The A/C (manual climate control unit) doesn't blow cold and I've found that the electric cooling fan doesn't turn with the A/C on.
So far I've found that:
-the fan runs when given 12V directly at the connector behind the grill
-I measure 0 v at the connector with the A/C engaged
- the electric fan relay(which I understand is identical to the radio interference suppresion relay) must be faulty as it will not start the car when swapped.
Relay Continuity tests between terminals 1 and 2
Electric Cooling Fan Relay = 87.4 ohms
Radio Interfer. Supp. Relay = 80.1 ohms
-unfortunately, the radio suppression relay which DOES start and run the car, does not make the electric cooling fan work (that would be too easy)
-I have checked fuses and confirmed electrical continuity in wiring to and from the fan relay
1. Does anyone know the correct values for this relay?
2. How do you test the electical cooling fan pressure sensor and the thermal switch?? I didn't want to unplug anything pressurized and lose whatever coolant is in the system.
3. Is there a separate relay for the MCC control unit?
Can anyone answer these questions and/or point me in the right direction?
Thanks a lot.
