Ignition switch won't turn 700 1990

The ignition switch on my 90 765 would not turn so I sprayed the key with WD 40 and got it to turn, but it seizes up again over time. any suggestions for long term solution. how hard is it to replace this. is this covered in the FAQ, I did not find it immediately. thanks
