hello everyone!

i have finally discovered the source of my radio's "seasonal allergies." it is overheating. a friend recommended i replace the wiring behind it. is this all i need to do? what EXACTLY am i replacing? is that what's called the radio harness? does it need to be an exact "1990 760" match, or is there something generic i should look for? any help at all you can give me will be much appreciated. oh, finally, is this something i can undertake on my own? what level of difficulty are we talking?
