Quieting a 740 valve tap. 700

I have a relatively loud valve tap in my 740 GL and I am, hopefully, going to resolve it. My plan is to change the valve hushers and check valve clearance (adjusting with shims if necessary). My question is this: Is there anything else I should look for while I have the cam out? It's a pretty loud tap that is more quiet when first starting the car than after warm up. The noise is all up top at the head area.

If any of you have quieted a valve tap with something other than valve clearance and hushers please let me know. Don't want to miss an opportunity.
