please help me. door behind evaporator coil - - - 200

hi all i am starting to get aggrivated. maybe you can help me im changing my evaporator coil (1985 244) when i realize why i can not get any outside air through the vents. the door behind the evap coil seems to be blocked by leaves, or something. how can i clean behind this? is there a servo that opens and closes this. i see a rod that holds the door in place but i dont want to make things worse by just taking the wrong thing apart. thanks for any advise
