I'm in the midst of an R-134a retrofit job on my '85 240 (will also be changing compressor. I just took out the old evaporator, and am ready to put in the new one (and expansion valve). Too lazy to look it up now, but it seems to me I read somewhere about using thread sealant for the connections. Do I need this? If so, what kind and where can I get it?
