Rear Axleshaft and bearing assembly 200 1986

My brake job evolved into something a bit more serious. (Funny how that seems to happen...) With caliper, rotor and ebrake removed, I noticed a serious leak around the retaining plate / outer seal. I've removed the axleshaft and bearing assembly. Haynes (section 8-11) says it is easiset to take the assembly to a machine shop to change the old locking ring, bearing and seal. Is it best to call the local Volvo dealership to ask who they use as a machine shop, or is this a job just about any machine shop can handle, even if they (gasp!) have never worked on bricks??? Thanks in advance for your replies!!
