Got a 1983 245 Turbo and the main fuel pump and the in-tank prepump kick on and run when the key is turned to the accessory position. They won't shut off until you turn the key back. Have you ever heard of this? My friend's 240 turbo has the pumps kick on for just a second or so and then they shut off until you turn the key all the way and start the car. Problem with mine is that if you don't start the car rather quickly, the car floods because the pumps are pumping fuel to the engine. I had a guy look at the car today for a brake and light inspection and he had the key turned to the accessory function while checking the lights and directionals and I just stood there listening to the pumps going like mad. When he was done he couldn't get the car to start. I jumped in and gave the car some gas while cranking it over and it caught and started. Like I said, it was flooded. Anybody ever hear of this condition before?
