My car spits out muffler.... 200 1978

The second muffler at the back of the car breaks off the pipe that feeds it. It has a clean break just at the weld that holds the muffler to the pipe. The muffler shop says they have not seen this before but it has happened twice in about 5 months on this car. Any ideas?
