Water In The Gas Tank 700 1990

Drove the car all day yesterday. Got 1 block from my home, turned the corner,
and the car just shut off. I had to force it into the far right lane. An officer
came and pushed me into a nearby parking lot. He tried to start it for me, but
it just wouldn`t turn over. He said he thought there was water in the gas tank.
I put some dry gas in the tank and left it overnight. It almost turned over, but
not quite! Any other suggestions?
