Forgive me if you think this should go in the opinions forum.
Here is the Gillette M3 Power Triple Edge razor of tires due out in spring that promises to do everything. P195/65R15 will be $114 ea. (plus tax, disposal fees, mounting and balancing, and extras).
I hope I can eat those words but I'm a little skeptical. Let's see...
Better dry traction.
Better wet traction.
Better snow and ice traction.
Less rolling resistance.
Long life (80k miles)
Smother ride.
Road side assistance (I do not think it's free.)
I will say that the web site is does a very good advertising job.
"Goodyear Gets Rolling
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is releasing an innovative new line of tires called Assurance(tm) -- the Company's largest launch in 10 years.
The Assurance line features TripleTred(tm) technology: three unique tread zones for traction in any weather, making it the best overall performer Goodyear has ever built.
NXT silane helps eliminate the number of mix cycles normally required for silica-rubber compounds. That means better dispersion of silica and improved coupling of silica and rubber, which reduces the rolling resistance and improve the skid resistance of tires.
In addition to improving performance, NXT silane also provides substantial savings on processing time and costs.
The Assurance line, including the TripleTred(tm) all-season tire, is appearing in retail outlets this spring."
